Unwary Local Tourist Cost him his life after stepping on a deadly coral in Palawan
On what was supposed to be an enjoyable vacation spent in the beautiful sands and deep blue seas turned out to be an unfortunate one, as a local tourist visited Coron, Palawan and suffered a bitter fate.
The saddening scene was elaborated by Chris Chug on a Facebook post, who was a friend of victim Miggy Ruiz.
According to reports, the local boatguards promptly warned them of the potential dangers and hazards of venomous jellyfishes and deadly corals lurking beneath the surface of the waters. But it was little too late when moments later they found Miggy in quite a distress, as soon enough they found out that he has stepped on a coral. Minutes later, he began to experience extreme discomfort and started vomiting. They thought at first he was stung by a jellyfish, but when asked, he said "I stepped on the corals and couldn't breathe." These were his last words as he passed away 10 minutes later after the incident.
There was a chance Miggy could have survived, but on the exact situation no one had exact knowledge on how to properly perform a CPR and thus ended up costing him his life.
His friend Chris was in obvious fury as he exclaimed that the doctors and nurses were unprepared and unrehearsed in dealing with the incident in Coron.
"If his death could and would bring awareness to everyone who frequents and loves the beach, then his death meant for bigger things indeed." He also added.
This reminds us that no matter how beautiful the waters may seem, there are still hidden dangers hiding beneath them so it is very important to be very careful when exploring the seas. We are saddened to hear the passing of Miggy Ruiz and hopefully in the future, similar incidents like these should be avoided.
