Despite the growing success of Pastillas Girl Angelica Jane Yap in ABS-CBN's noontime show It's Showtime, she and the show itself has received ample criticism from various angles, from television viewers, to netizens and social media users. And now the show is coming under fire recently after the Gabriela Women's Party claims that the show is suggesting Angelica Jade Yap to different guys which they deem inappropriate and unsuitable. They want the noontime show to be investigated by the Movie Television Review and Classification Board to see if Pastillas Girl's segment on It's Showtime is admissible. It's Showtime has received allegations and complaints in regards to this matter, as some view the segment of Pastillas Girl as being pimped towards variously interested men.

Gabriela is known for strictly establishing women rights in the country, and it's General Manager Joan May Salvador has stated that her organization has received quite the complaints in regards to the matter. She said “As an organization dealing with the protection and advancement of women’s right, we cannot dismiss such complaints,” Salvador said in her letters. “We have been consistent in our statement that competition to sell the show and the ratings war should not be done at the expense of women.” Both the MTRCB and It's Showtime have yet to respond to the allegations and complaints. After rising to fame due to her viral video on social media, Angelica Jane Yap has been deemed the answer to rival GMA Network in Yaya Dub, competing for television ratings and in keeping the competition leveled up. While she has gathered her wide fan base, she has acquired a number of criticism as well due to her sudden rise to fame, constantly being bashed online by netizens. In light of the recent allegations that the noontime show of ABS-CBN is pimping her to different guys, she has responded to the claims. In a short video by ABS-CBN, she states that the show isn't looking to hook up Pastillas Girl to different guys, rather she says that the show is looking for a friend whom she will hopefully get close with and get to know more about each other. She says that it's not an automatic relationship she's looking for, but a guy who will eventually charm her heart and win her over.

Although she has acquired quite a lot of fans and having her own fan base, some netizens aren't too fond of the new-found celebrity of Abs-Cbn. She is being constantly compared to Yaya Dub's charming, sweet, funny and subtle personality, while some netizens claim that Pastillas Girl is the exact opposite of Yaya Dub in terms of her character.


She's coming under fire a lot lately, spawning her own haters and bashers from netizens on social media sites, mostly Facebook. While she has risen to the spotlight on national television, it mostly came with not just happiness, but also the pressure of being a prominent personality facing constant comparisons at every angle. And now it seems netizens are digging deeper into her storied past so that everyone would know the true story of Pastillas Girl and find out who she really is. An example of this is a netizen shared a post on her Facebook account, and her name is Judy Panopio. She reposted a likely open letter coming from Angelica's enraged haters, and clearly the post speaks for itself. Of course, the letter is pointing out Angelica's past errors and mistakes and how she is a bad influence for everyone else including the children for her errant behavior. Basically the post points out her flaws, and the letter isn't too kind in giving her the props she deserves in rising as a star due to her viral video. We most likely assume that the original author of the post is probably a close acquaintance of Angelica, because judging by the letter, the person who wrote it knows a whole lot about Pastillas Girl. The post made rounds online, and netizens have began to share it through Facebook and has gathered considerable amount of attention. While we don't know how Angelica influenced a sudden hate on her from many netizens and people around the nation, it's generally not nice to resurface past issues and use it against the person.

It seems likely that the post will eventually reach Angelica herself. And hopefully she can retain composure amidst all the criticism and hate coming from various angles of her now popular life. The 21-year-old who hails from Quezon City, was a guest on Vice Ganda's "Madam Bertud" segment wherein the comedian gives advice on anything and everything. It turns out that her boyfriend left her for her best friend, which prompted her to make the video and express her feelings towards her ex-boyfriend. She has risen to fame because of the viral video. But is she really the original 'pastillas girl'?



That's the most unlikely question. But everyone hasn't figured this out, because little do they know that there is another girl behind all this who originally made the recipe and shared it to netizens online! Meet Miel Francisco, the original pastillas girl! She shared the recipe on her Facebook account, and it gathered a thousand likes, views and comments because of her hilarious humor in her pastillas recipe which trended through various social media sites. It seems that Yap claimed the recipe from Miel and made a video in regards to the pastillas. Yap then successfully trended because of her video, going viral online then eventually making it to television. While Miel, who originally made the recipe, was left out and received no credit in making the pastillas recipe, in which she was overshadowed by Yap's hilarious video. Netizens have debated that Miel should be the one deserving of the spotlight, and she should be the one making the guest appearance on It's Showtime. Many have checked out her Facebook account and found out the recipe was posted, and everyone commented that she is indeed the original pastillas girl! And in a recent status update she said that to those who claimed her pastillas recipe, she said that it's theirs for the taking and now she is the one left out.

While Yap is trending towards the spotlight, Miel is left in the shadows and buried in Yap's sudden rise to fame. Little did everyone know that the original pastillas girl isn't Yap, but Miel!
