In light of the controversial statements made by the Head Coach of China's Basketball team, Gong Luming at a press conference, a British national wrote an open letter to the president of People's Republic of China in response to the rather offensive statements of Coach Luming. Malcolm Conlan, the Brit who claims that he is a 'pinoy at heart' elaborated his thoughts and opinions in a letter which he deemed inappropriate towards the Philippines. Before the final bout of the FIBA Asia 2015 Championship, the British national sent an open letter to the president of China, and here is the statement that Mr. Conlan wrote regarding the controversial statements of Coach Luming.

Coach Luming was interviewed before the game, and his confidence in his basketball team winning the championship eventually led to him stating a rather debatable comment, saying "I am very confident. I am so confident that I'm willing... I'm willing to make a bet. If we lose, they can have the Spratly Islands." Everyone is well aware that the aforementioned island is a part of the Philippines, and China is claiming the island as part of their country. It has been an ongoing debate for the two countries, and surely it wasn't a topic that should be mentioned in a basketball game which caused an uproar from netizens and Filipinos. After eventually winning the FIBA championship, China has been receiving heat from various angles, some speculating that the basketball game was rigged so that their team would win the championship.This caused massive controversy across the whole nation, and even the NBA commented on the allegedly rigged game. And now they're drawing controversy once again caused by Coach Luming. In Mr. Conlan's letter, he stated that "You [China] cannot give back something which did not belong to you in the first place, that is generally known as theft. Secondly, the Spratly Islands are not to be treated as some kind of pawn in a high stakes gambling match. The Spratly Islands are a valuable asset which historical evidence has proven belong to the Philippine people." Even netizens sounded on their own opinion, stating that it was a foolish and unknowledgeable comment that resembles the true identity and color of the Chinese nation. They also applauded Mr. Conlan for defending the Philippines with his statement, as Filipinos welcome him as a true Filipino at heart who's proud of the country. Mr. Conlan also stated that his wife is a Filipina, and he also has relatives who are also Filipinos from both the Philippines and the United Kingdom. Respect has been given to Mr. Conlan in his open letter, and everyone is hoping the president of China takes notice of the letter and recognizes the offensive statements Coach Luming has stated in his interview before the basketball game. The Gilas Pilipinas team vowed redemption in the 2016 Summer Olympics. And certainly there's a fire burning in their hearts in representing Filipino pride in making a comeback against the humbling defeat of China.


Mr. Conlan certainly gained respect and admiration from many Filipinos and netizens for his open letter. It was a truly remarkable effort from a man named Vadim in Russia after miraculously saving a dog many would have thought impossible to do. After hearing subtle, faint barking sounds near the stairs of a sidewalk, his gut instincts took over, and he thought there may be something hidden under the bricks he needs to dig out to find out what it is. After a big sinkhole was repaired in the area and the sidewalk was completely redone, Vadim Rustam and his family overheard a low-volume barking surrounding the stairs of a building in the sidewalk. After they heard the subtle barking sounds, they immediately reported the scenario to the local housing office. But they weren't given any much help or attention at all as the local housing office denied them, saying that they weren't involved in the repairing of the sinkhole. Seemingly determined to find out and rescue the dog, Vadim took matters into his own hands and be the hero for the poor dog.

He and his family gathered some tools and went back to the spot where they overheard the barking sounds. With just a hammer in his arsenal, Vadim started to remove the bricks one by one, digging up the sand in search of the poor dog. After he got a significant space to work through, he found a huge rock that was blocking a hole, wherein the dog was buried inside so it could not get out. Imagine the terrifying experience the poor dog went through. He removed the rock, and to his surprise there was the dog buried! He pulled the dog out of the hole and seemingly the dog was pregnant! Everyone assumed that the workers intentionally buried the dog and left it out to die. But Vadim came to save the dog from the edges of death, and now he is considered a local hero in his hometown! Aside from the thought that the dog is pregnant, going for two days without food or water surely is a terrifying experience. And everyone was happy seeing the dog alive and well, and everyone certainly knows who to thank, their local hero Vadim. It isn't clear whether who was the mastermind behind the burying of the dog, but one thing is for sure; the dog is now at safe hands in a local rescue group in Voronezh, Russia. Thanks to Vadim, his gut instincts and his tremendous effort saved an animal from harm. Watch the video and see for yourself how amazingly Vadim came to save the buried dog.

It was truly a great sight to see seeing the dog alive and well. After 15 years of lighting up the whole nation with their iconic music and spearheading the rise of the local rock scene, Kamikazee finally decided to pull the plug and leave the guitars, drums, and the microphones to rest as they complete their epic legacy, becoming one of the most celebrated rock bands the Philippines has ever heard and witnessed. The pop punk band was formed in 2000 with Jay Contreras on vocals, Jomal Linao and Led Tuyay on guitars, bassist Puto Astete and drummer Bords Burdeos. The band has released four studio-length albums, and their influential rock music has reached mainstream popularity throughout the whole nation and reshaping the local rock music landscape for years to come. The band announced on January 25, 2015 that they would disband at the end of the year, although they clarified that it was not a break up but merely a hiatus on band activities. The band told fans that they would surely see the band again in the future. But this time, they decided that after 15 long years of dedicating their mind, body and soul in giving fans resounding music, it was time to finally end the saga, with a curtain call that signified that the days of the Kamikazee are over.

They held their final gig, bidding goodbye to the music industry for one last time. Parokya Ni Edgar, also one of the most influential and prominent rock bands in the Philippines, posted an emotional photo on their Facebook page with frontman Chito Miranda and Kamikazee's vocalist Jay Contrera taken 12 Monkey’s Music Pub in Makati City on September 28,2015. The photo was taken by @pinedajason and posted on Instagram, as he was one of the people who witnessed Kamikazee's final gig in their illustrious 15-year career. The band's emotional members sung their farewell song "Huling Sayaw", as it signified their final moments being together as a band. Fans payed tribute to the band's massive influence in each of their lives, as they bid farewell to the iconic rock band, posting on Instagram with the hashtag #‎HulingSayaw.

Love is eternal, love is true, and not even death can surpass the boundaries of everlasting love. And for Tel Madrona Talusan, she is a living testament that death cannot separate her feelings towards her fiance, Rumpel. It was one of the most heartbreaking scenarios she has ever faced in her young life, but she stood strong amidst the trials and challenges, and she is determined to prove her undying love to Rumpel, his friends, family and everyone else. They were having plans to get married later in life, but sadly, Rumpel passed away and their plans, ambitions and goals together in life were immediately blown away in the winds. Tel was stricken with grief when Rumpel passed away, and it compelled her to prove everyone else that her love will never wither away despite them no longer being together. She decided to marry Rumpel, while he ever-so-peacefully rests on his coffin, as she decided to finally bid farewell for one last time, bracing herself to face life without her other half. In a Facebook post on Tel's account, she bid goodbye to her fiance in a heartfelt message. "Mahal ko, hindi man to tulad ng kasal sa loob ng simbahan, wala mang papel bilang patunay ng kasunduan, alam ko na sa mata ng diyos ako at ikaw ay iisa bilang mag-asawa." Tel said in her post.




The heartbreaking post was filled with emotion and love. She lamented Rumpel's passing, as she braces life without her fiance as she looks to be with him again in the next life. Also in her previous posts, Tel shared everyone her longing of Rumpel, as she said "Hindi mo naman kasi kami dapat iniwan, hindi naman yun yung solusyon eh kaya naman nating lumaban, hindi naman dapat aksidenteng hindi natin ginusto ang tatapos sa buhay mo, hindi yun ang makakapag pahiwalay saten ng tuluyan." She expressed her grief that their plans and dreams were halted when the unexpected happened. In another post, Tel asked if anyone knew the password of her fiance's phone, seeking to reminisce the good old times they had together for one last time, as the photos of them together were the only pieces left that would remind her of the times they've spent with each other. In another separate post, Tel expressed her heartfelt love and emotion for Rumpel, which prompted everyone to extend their condolences. as family and friends extend their hands to comfort Tel in facing difficult times in her life. It's amazing that even people not close to Tel and Rumpel felt their love for one another, as they extend their deepest condolences as well. Netizen Lovelyne Pahayag Flores commented "Condolence Tel! Di man tayo close, sa mutual friend lang kita nakilala. Pero sinubaybayan ko ang relasyon nyo, halos kayo na nga lang ang nagpapakilig sakin. Kada post mo halos madurog nadin ang puso ko. Sobra kong hanga sayo. Magpakatatag ka para sa sarili mo at kay Alas. Marami ang nagmamahal sayo." As she stands strong in enduring the storms of life, many have given her support and inspiration as she faces the challenges of having to live without her fiance. Truly it is one of the most heartwarming scenarios we've ever witnessed, proving that love can be everlasting and eternal. They have withstood the test of time, and in the very last moments of Laura's life, her husband wanted to let her know that his undying love will last forever, and nothing can take that away, not even death.

In a viral video captured by Erin Solari, Howard's granddaughter, it can be seen that her grandfather is singing the song "You'll Never Know", which she claims has a special place in the couple's hearts, as the song is entwined with their fate when Howard left Laura to join the World War II. Ever since those very moments, the two lovebirds have performed and sang the song in various occasions as a duet, most especially during the sweet renewal of their wedding vows. The song has carved a special niche on their hearts, and the song is truly meaningful in every way each lyric resonates soundly throughout their skin and bones, touching their beautiful souls with the song only the two of them share a very strong connection and bond. Laura has lost her vision, and despite being blind, it can be seen that she is deeply looking into her husband's eyes, indicating that her love goes beyond what her eyes cannot see. While her husband, Howard, gives all his might and strength in standing up from his wheelchair to get close to his loving wife while singing the beautiful song, surpassing the thought that no physical disability can weaken a strong heart. "It has somehow captured in just a few minutes an entire lifetime between the two people. In one of the more notable disappointments in regards to love stories we've recently seen is the tale of this young man who thoughtfully and carefully planned his celebration of the first month of his relationship with his girlfriend. Unfortunately for him, excitement quickly turned into disappointment as he soon found out the rasping truth about his relationship with his significant other.
In a Facebook post by Elgene Jayson L. Ergina, after deliberate preparation and thorough planning of celebrating their first month together, it seems as if things were going according to plan. He had set up balloons, wrote gift cards, and wrote a huge sign that symbolizes their first celebration together. It was all set up as a surprise for his girlfriend, but little did he know that in the end, it was him who would turn out to be very surprised. In light of all the fancy efforts and gaudy attempts, he was slapped with the hard truth that his girlfriend is involved in another relationship with a man. For 3 years. Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Talk about an epic plot twist. Despite all the negative criticisms and warnings he received from peers before courting the girl, he claimed that he ignored all the voices and vowed to prove his undying love to his significant other, which in turn painfully backfired. He stated that it was never his intention to come across relationships, and it was without his knowledge that his recent girlfriend is already in a relationship with another guy for roughly 3 years. In spite of the bitter outcome, he manages to stay positive, thanking his friends, his sister, his parents, his saints (sic) and most of all, God. It was a plan that certainly was touching and warm, but the outcome wasn't as intended. We commend this young man in his attempt to display his affection and love in many ways is considered to be charming and endearing. The ending wasn't just a good cap-off to the whole plan. A restaurant in Thailand named BarBQPlaza served up a touching surprise to their waiters in reward for their hard-work and loyalty. The restaurant first asked each waiter to fill out a survey form with different questions, starting with casual questions such as how many days do the waiters work in a month. Then surprisingly, diverting the questions to their mothers, asking them if they were still living with them, what their mom's favorite foods are, and how often do they talk to them.

This evoked a handful of emotions for the waiters, as they long for the warmth and the embrace of their mothers, realizing that they barely have the time to spend with them due to their busy work schedules. As they read the questions and write their answers, some of the waiters couldn't help but burst into tears, reminiscing the good times with their mothers that they rarely spend any time with them anymore. Little did they know that this simple survey form was just a small part of a big surprise the restaurant arranged for their waiters and their mothers! Of course, no one expected it to happen, but as soon as the day arrived, everyone was full of happiness and emotions. Meaningful tears were shed as it can be seen that the waiters are accompanied with their mothers, sitting in a dining table and being served with their favorite food.

This humble man is Abdul Halim Attar, a Palestinian refugee from Yarmouk in Syria, and his daughter is Reem. Roaming the streets of Beirut armed with just pens to make money, his story has impacted people in ways many least expected. His hardwork caught the attention of Mr. Gissur Simonarson, who runs the website Conflict News, and took notice of the humble man's efforts. Mr. Simonarson created a twitter account to seek Abdul and raise funds in hopes of giving light to his dim existence and provide hope for better days ahead. After tweets have been noticed, it struck a chord. With the help of local journalists and activists they found Abdul and started a crowdfunding campaign to offer help and assistance to Abdul and his family,
