ML - A giant panda in Taiwan has been accused of faking pregnancy in a bid to receive preferential treatment from her keepers.
Yuan Yuan, an 11-year-old female who was artificially inseminated towards the end of March, had begun to show signs of pregnancy including loss of appetite, mobility and thickening of the uterus, according to Taiwan’s Central News Agency.
The panda was moved to her own air-conditioned room and given round-the-clock care, extra bamboo and treats such as fruit and buns.
But when experts flown in from China after more than a month of the treatment examined Yuan Yuan using ultrasound, they discovered that she was not actually pregnant.
Sure enough, a spokesperson for Taiwan Zoo told China Daily that the animal’s behaviour and pregnancy symptoms were beginning to revert to normal.
It is not the first time that keepers have speculated a “phantom pregnancy” – common occurrences among pandas – might be deliberate.
Last year, officials at a breeding centre in Sichuan province, China, believed a six-year-old female called Ai Hin was also trying to deceive her keepers.
Wu Kongju, an expert at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Centre where Ai Hin was kept, explained that not all “fake” pregnancies were just down to hormonal changes.
“After showing prenatal signs, the 'mothers-to-be' are moved into single rooms with air conditioning and around-the-clock care,” Wu told Xinhua.
“They also receive more buns, fruits and bamboo, so some clever pandas have used this to their advantage to improve their quality of life.”

Angela, described as “always playing Candy Crush” is currently being treated in the emergency room in critical condition after being shot in both her legs. The gunman, 26 year old Kenneth Bailor is currently in custody and will face charges of attempted murder. Kenneth Bailor tells investigators, “I expecting a notification from bae but instead I was getting game invites from Angela.” He supposedly asked Angela Gardner to stop sending him game requests but she never stopped. He claims he even blocked her and she still sent him game invites. Bailor says, “it's like she was asking to be killed”.
“She played Candy Crush way too much,” says Allison Smith, a close friend of Angela. “She was getting annoying, it’s not that surprising that someone shot her, believe it or not.” It is reported Angela sent Kenneth and almost all her friends an average of 14 Candy Crush invites daily to all of her friends. Nurses reported that Angela, although, barely alive and well, asked for her iPhone so she can play “one more round of candy crush before I die.”
It is currently not known if Angela will survive the gunshot wounds, but it is obvious that she believes her life is over.

Woman Shot For Sending Too Many Game Invites On Facebook
SOUTH AFRICA - An Australian surfer has made an incredible escape after encountering two sharks during a major competition in South Africa.
Mick Fanning was competing in Jeffreys Bay, on the eastern Cape, when one of the sharks approached his surfboard. The final of the J-Bay Open had only just started when Fanning was knocked off his surfboard and into the sea.
Fanning, the defending champion, escaped injury. The tournament was called off soon afterwards. "I was just sitting there and I felt something just get stuck in my leg rope, and I was kicking trying to get it away," Fanning told Fox Sports.
"I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth." Fanning, a three-time world champion, said he was able to "get a punch into its back" and startle it.
The event was being broadcast live on television. Footage later cut to Fanning and co-competitor Julian Wilson, also of Australia, on a rescue boat reliving the incident. The relieved-looking pair then received loud applause from a crowd on the beach.
The World Surf League (WSL), which organises the competition, said Fanning was approached by two sharks, and that he and Wilson were both rescued from the water by jet-skis.

TEXAS - A man mocked alligators, then jumped in the water -- despite warning signs -- leading to his demise in Texas.
The Orange County Police were called to Burkart's Marina near the Louisiana with reports that Tommie Woodward, 28, and a still unidentified woman were swimming in a lake that's inhabited by large alligators.
Woodward's body was found several hours later. The woman was not injured.
Eyewitnesses told news reporters that Woodward kept shouting "crikey"at the alligators and told the largest, "I will make a belt out of your whole [expletive] crew."

DeAndre Jordan told the media that he's very disappointed with the New York Knicks' "trickery." "I honestly thought Phil Jackson [would] be better than that," he finished.
It is important to note that Jordan verbally agreed to sign with Mark Cuban's Dallas Mavericks, but after a whirlwind of events including the whole Clippers organization locking him down at his Houston home, he was led to a decision to sign with the Los Angeles second team.
Social media has reacted with the contract issue using the hashtag #ContractGate on Twitter and Facebook. The NBA has contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to help with the case. "We are looking into possible loopholes including an assistant or secretary possibly disguising as a Clippers staff slipping the Knicks contract in front of Mr. Jordan."

Devorise Dixon's case that he was served southern style rodent has taken the web by storm, after he shared images and of his abdominal feast on Facebook.
Dixon says he put the thing in the cooler and came back to the restaurant with photographs and his buy receipt.
In a Facebook post, Dixon composed, "went back to KFC yesterday and talked with the manager, she said it is a rodent and apologized. Now is the ideal time for legal actions. Be safe, don't eat fast food."
KFC's Facebook page has been overflowed with photographs of Dixon's supper, and the organization has reacted to a few posts, saying they are willing to work with Dixon to determine the circumstance.
On one event KFC reacted by saying. "KFC considers client guarantees important, and we are attempting to research this matter. Our chicken tenders regularly differ fit as a fiddle and we, as of now, need confirmation to bolster this case. We are forcefully attempting to reach Mr. Dixon, and we ask for that he come back to the branch with the item for testing, or call us at 1-800-Call-KFC."
Later KFC added to their reaction with the accompanying:
"KFC has reached this client, yet he is declining to converse with us specifically or through a lawyer. Our chicken tenders regularly ship fit as a fiddle and we, at present, have no confirmation to bolster this affirmation. We have extended the chance to have a free lab assess the item at our own particular cost, however the client declines to give the item being referred to."

The guy over at the YouTube channel MysticGotJokes, loves pranking people. It’s basically all his channel is. In one of his latest videos he decided he was going to prank on of his lady friends. But instead of making it a light harder joke he decided to cross a line.
He had a friend call him to give him his “STD test results”, and you guessed it they weren’t good. The idea was to have the girl freak out and worry that she might have them. The only thing is the girl knew it was his friend.
So she decided to turn the prank around on him. Telling him that it was her fault because she never told him, she had a STD. This freaks out Mystic and he almost loses his mind!
She finally tells him that she knew all along, causing him some immediate relief. Maybe next time he decides to prank somebody he’ll make sure they aren’t in on the prank.
