It was a heated competition between the two countries vying for the top spotlight in FIBA Asia's 2015 Championship versus the Gilas Pilipinas and China, with the latter eventually winning the championship crown and solidifying themselves at the peak of asian basketball. But of course, it didn't come with much criticism and controversy from many basketball fans especially the Filipinos considering the game was allegedly rigged by China along with the referees so that they would eventually win the championship. After a heartbreaking 78-67 loss, the Gilas team finished with a silver medal, but in the hearts of many Filipinos the Gilas Pilipinas basketball team was without a doubt their own champion as the team displayed grit, toughness and Filipino pride.

Many have come to the conclusion that the game is indeed set up for the China basketball team to win, of course playing in their own country in Changsha, Hunan, China definitely helped their cause in playing a massive advantage against the unwavering Gilas basketball team. This prompted netizens to take over the social media and express their disappointment and rage over Twitter and Facebook, with the hashtag #‎GilasTamangPanahon becoming a trending topic. They felt that the Gilas team was stripped of the victory that is rightfully theirs by the biased referee calls working against the Chinese basketball team's favor. Chowking, a popular Chinese fastfood restaurant in the country, is humorously and jokingly getting blasted by netizens on Twitter, expressing that the Chinese restaurant should be banned for being apart of the "cooking" of the FIBA Asia 2015 Championship, all in good fun of course. Of course, Chowking decided to play the game as well, as their official Twitter account tweeted a response to netizens voicing to boycott the Chinese fastfood restaurant, and here is their latest tweet.
They amusingly made it clear that the cooking only happens in the kitchen, and they hade nothing to do with China's triumph over Gilas Pilipinas, which they jokingly state that their chefs aren't referees, calling for a truce and hopefully avoiding getting banned from the country, all in good humor and laughter. After 15 years of lighting up the whole nation with their iconic music and spearheading the rise of the local rock scene, Kamikazee finally decided to pull the plug and leave the guitars, drums, and the microphones to rest as they complete their epic legacy, becoming one of the most celebrated rock bands the Philippines has ever heard and witnessed. The pop punk band was formed in 2000 with Jay Contreras on vocals, Jomal Linao and Led Tuyay on guitars, bassist Puto Astete and drummer Bords Burdeos. The band has released four studio-length albums, and their influential rock music has reached mainstream popularity throughout the whole nation and reshaping the local rock music landscape for years to come. The band announced on January 25, 2015 that they would disband at the end of the year, although they clarified that it was not a break up but merely a hiatus on band activities. The band told fans that they would surely see the band again in the future. But this time, they decided that after 15 long years of dedicating their mind, body and soul in giving fans resounding music, it was time to finally end the saga, with a curtain call that signified that the days of the Kamikazee are over.

They held their final gig, bidding goodbye to the music industry for one last time. Parokya Ni Edgar, also one of the most influential and prominent rock bands in the Philippines, posted an emotional photo on their Facebook page with frontman Chito Miranda and Kamikazee's vocalist Jay Contrera taken 12 Monkey’s Music Pub in Makati City on September 28,2015. The photo was taken by @pinedajason and posted on Instagram, as he was one of the people who witnessed Kamikazee's final gig in their illustrious 15-year career. The band's emotional members sung their farewell song "Huling Sayaw", as it signified their final moments being together as a band. Fans payed tribute to the band's massive influence in each of their lives, as they bid farewell to the iconic rock band, posting on Instagram with the hashtag #‎HulingSayaw.

Love is eternal, love is true, and not even death can surpass the boundaries of everlasting love. And for Tel Madrona Talusan, she is a living testament that death cannot separate her feelings towards her fiance, Rumpel. It was one of the most heartbreaking scenarios she has ever faced in her young life, but she stood strong amidst the trials and challenges, and she is determined to prove her undying love to Rumpel, his friends, family and everyone else. They were having plans to get married later in life, but sadly, Rumpel passed away and their plans, ambitions and goals together in life were immediately blown away in the winds. Tel was stricken with grief when Rumpel passed away, and it compelled her to prove everyone else that her love will never wither away despite them no longer being together. She decided to marry Rumpel, while he ever-so-peacefully rests on his coffin, as she decided to finally bid farewell for one last time, bracing herself to face life without her other half. In a Facebook post on Tel's account, she bid goodbye to her fiance in a heartfelt message. "Mahal ko, hindi man to tulad ng kasal sa loob ng simbahan, wala mang papel bilang patunay ng kasunduan, alam ko na sa mata ng diyos ako at ikaw ay iisa bilang mag-asawa." Tel said in her post.




The heartbreaking post was filled with emotion and love. She lamented Rumpel's passing, as she braces life without her fiance as she looks to be with him again in the next life. Also in her previous posts, Tel shared everyone her longing of Rumpel, as she said "Hindi mo naman kasi kami dapat iniwan, hindi naman yun yung solusyon eh kaya naman nating lumaban, hindi naman dapat aksidenteng hindi natin ginusto ang tatapos sa buhay mo, hindi yun ang makakapag pahiwalay saten ng tuluyan." She expressed her grief that their plans and dreams were halted when the unexpected happened. In another post, Tel asked if anyone knew the password of her fiance's phone, seeking to reminisce the good old times they had together for one last time, as the photos of them together were the only pieces left that would remind her of the times they've spent with each other. In another separate post, Tel expressed her heartfelt love and emotion for Rumpel, which prompted everyone to extend their condolences. as family and friends extend their hands to comfort Tel in facing difficult times in her life. It's amazing that even people not close to Tel and Rumpel felt their love for one another, as they extend their deepest condolences as well. Netizen Lovelyne Pahayag Flores commented "Condolence Tel! Di man tayo close, sa mutual friend lang kita nakilala. Pero sinubaybayan ko ang relasyon nyo, halos kayo na nga lang ang nagpapakilig sakin. Kada post mo halos madurog nadin ang puso ko. It would be a total shock for everyone seeing a woman walking around the streets without even strapping on a pair of jeans or pants of any kind. Well, if there’s some impressive body paint involved, then according to this video, only one! In an effort to see how observant New Yorkers are, the team hired body art company The Body Of Art to paint a woman’s legs to resemble jeans, and they sent her out sans pants on the streets of NYC. The point was to see if any New Yorkers would notice that the pants were, in fact, painted on and that the girl wasn’t wearing anything at the very least.

We’ve got to give her props to be ballsy enough to strut the streets au naturale. Even with painted-on pants, what if it sweat off? Those are only some of the possibilities, but certainly it took guts to pull something like this off. She began parading around the streets of Manhattan's Midtown neighborhood completely naked, but her legs covered in paint that had been fashioned to look like jeans, complete with stitching and even on-trend patches. The funny footage was part of a social experiment by Model Pranksters to determine just how observant the people of New York City are. The result? Well, not very. Barely few people even noticed. Even as she was standing by the train station, no one could even tell! We suspect that people may be too busy focusing on their day ahead that they aren't much aware of their surroundings. Looking at the video it does seem that she's wearing a pair of jeans, and we can't argue that it looks real! The daring prank even went inside a Forever 21 store looking for the same jeans as the ones she was “wearing”, if she even wore one, and asked a sales associate to find a similar pair for her. It was a ridiculous prank and we have to say it's amazing! We don't know why almost all of the people she bypassed didn't even notice a single thing! Most of them were busy going on their day ahead, and it seems only one noticed at the end of the video seems to have taken note of the trick, as he gets up close and personal to get a picture. Even walking by past Times Square did one soul even notice.

Many felt that she is the direct answer in comparison to Eat Bulaga's very own Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) in claiming television ratings once again and level the playing field for the two channel networks. Although she has acquired quite a lot of fans and having her own fan base, some netizens aren't too fond of the new-found celebrity of Abs-Cbn. She is being constantly compared to Yaya Dub's charming, sweet, funny and subtle personality, while some netizens claim that Pastillas Girl is the exact opposite of Yaya Dub in terms of her character.

In light of the mainstream video of the pastillas recipe popularized by Angelica Jane Yap (known as Pastillas Girl), apparently not only one, but two people claim that they are the original makers of the famous pastillas recipe that set the whole social media ablaze. Of course, Angelica was credited in making the whole story such a big hit, and was invited to be a guest and made an appearance in Abs-Cbn's noontime show It's Showtime. She shared her own story and background on how her ex-boyfriend cheated on her, which she says was an inspiration in making the pastillas video. After the video went viral online through various social media sites most notably Facebook, a girl named Miel Francisco states that she is the original author of the pastillas recipe. Her reaction was seen on her Facebook account, updating her status in regards to Angelica claiming her work while she was left out of the spotlight because of it. Miel posted a screenshot from her phone for proof that she is the real author of the recipe. Angelica Jane Yap (Pastillas Girl) did not include any credits when she uploaded her video, and states that she wasn't aware that the viral photo she shared online came from Miel, because the post was so popular a lot of netizens also shared it.



While this left many people wondering, just days after Miel stated that she is the real author of the said post, netizens have discovered another person claiming the post as the original author, and that is "Pastillas Boy"!

As the popularity of AlDub continues to peak greater heights, fans have been going ballistic whenever they see either one of the two most popular icons in the KalyeSerye series. Certainly everyone has been charmed and enamored by the two love birds, and their hype continues to ascend as they pave their way to superstardom. Alden Richards was seen in a mall show in Imus, Cavite where fans uncontrollably swarmed him and apparently was injured when they started to crowd the handsome actor.


Lexi Dela Cruz, a YouTube user posted a video online where Alden was surrounded by a ton of fans, allegedly getting injured when he was mobbed. Although he suffered just minor scrapes and scratches, this didn't stop Maine, his love team partner in KalyeSerye, to express worry and concern as the news came to her and immediately sought to hear about the incident and check on whether Alden is fine. She sent a message to Alden's friend, Nate Gonzaga to update her on the situation. He asked if Alden was okay because she didn't know that there was an incident in Alden's mall appearance. She said that she was a 'concerned pal', but we strongly believe that the subtle care and worry Maine expresses is more than just a friend. Nate shared the message on his Instagram account and posted it, with the captions seemingly appearing that he too is enamored by the care and attention Maine displays for Alden.

A government official is facing heavy criticism under the microscope online by netizens after photos have been circulating online about coming to late work. Mr. Alejandro San Juan, Chief Officer of the Assessment Division, exactly arrived at 11:30 a.m. and can be seen in the images seemingly relaxing and slacking around. According to some employees, Mr. San Juan routinely arrives at work at around 12 noon, only coming to work only when there are important paper works to be done in the government. They said "maam mga tanghali pa kse dumadating si sir."

The post by Kaya Di Umuunlad ang Pilipinas Facebook page has garnered considerable attention, harnessing over a thousand likes and shares and many voiced their opinions and thoughts. Many have expressed that acts like these are the reason the Philippines isn't succeeding because of indolent and lethargic work. He can be seen with his assistant seemingly playing with his hair, and many have expressed rage and fury after seeing the controversial images. In one of the more notable disappointments in regards to love stories we've recently seen is the tale of this young man who thoughtfully and carefully planned his celebration of the first month of his relationship with his girlfriend. He had set up balloons, wrote gift cards, and wrote a huge sign that symbolizes their first celebration together. It was all set up as a surprise for his girlfriend, but little did he know that in the end, it was him who would turn out to be very surprised. In light of all the fancy efforts and gaudy attempts, he was slapped with the hard truth that his girlfriend is involved in another relationship with a man. For 3 years. Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Talk about an epic plot twist. Despite all the negative criticisms and warnings he received from peers before courting the girl, he claimed that he ignored all the voices and vowed to prove his undying love to his significant other, which in turn painfully backfired. He stated that it was never his intention to come across relationships, and it was without his knowledge that his recent girlfriend is already in a relationship with another guy for roughly 3 years. In spite of the bitter outcome, he manages to stay positive, thanking his friends, his sister, his parents, his saints (sic) and most of all, God. It was a plan that certainly was touching and warm, but the outcome wasn't as intended. We commend this young man in his attempt to display his affection and love in many ways is considered to be charming and endearing. The ending wasn't just a good cap-off to the whole plan. The man stood his ground and answered back with his own minced words, flipping his phone open to reveal the woman's picture and asks bystanders "Look at how she looks before me, and then look at this photo." Furious, the woman grabbed the phone and retaliated, saying "You (onlookers ) be the judge. Isn't this me? Isn't this me? It's you who is lying to me, you bastard!" Fuming, the man shoved the woman to the ground which was very unsightly, The video was uploaded, and you can check it out and see for yourself how the scenario unfolded.

It has taken the world by storm since it was released, and oddly, some accounts claim the success of this dance craze was influenced by demonic powers, as it is said that the dance symbolizes a 500-year ritual done to summon Lucifer from the pits of hell. The post wqs made by satirical website Manila Link, claiming that the Bishop of Rome and the Sovereign of the Vatican City stated these concerning truths. Surprisingly, many believed the post and stated for themselves that the dance is indeed a demonic ritual. But of course, we're her to slay hoaxes and we're sorry to burst everyone's bubbles. The whole thing is fake.

The crisis in Syria has caused many Syrians to flee their country and seek refuge in nearby borders such as Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon where mercy corps have been addressing their needs since the war began more than three years ago in 2012. After the full-blown civil war began in March of 2011, the ensuing war has claimed a staggering 220,000 people, many of which are claimed to be civilians. Almost more than 11 million people have been devastated an displaced, and the increasing impact caused by the mass conflict seemed too overwhelming for Syrians to stay in their country and fled for their own safety and of course, their lives.

Some Syrian refugees have fled to Hungary in search for a more stable situation, but after arriving in the country, they were greeted with a unwelcoming gesture. A Hungarian camerawoman was spotted live on camera intentionally tripping down and kicking Syrian refugees fleeing police near the country's border as she covers the ensuing conflict for a local news outlet. The actual footage is provided so you can see for yourself how the camerawoman trips off the fleeing refugees. As if the war wasn't already giving the refugees a reason to lose hope in seeing better days ahead, this camerawoman seemingly made it just worse, as it was clearly an inhumane act and inconsiderate act. Due to her intolerable conduct, she was fired last Tuesday. The camerawoman was identified as Petra Laszlo, as noted by Hungarian news website 444.hu.
Hundreds of thousands of refugees are also attempting the dangerous trip across the Mediterranean Sea from Turkey to Greece, hoping to find a better future in Europe. Not all of them make it across alive.
