Mosquito Bite Unexpectedly Makes A Man Face Swollen Like A Balloon!

Mosquitos carry different kinds of diseases which can be easily transferred with just a single bite. These nasty little insects are the leading causes of dengue, malaria, and other harmful viruses around the world. These diseases are dreaded by people mostly in tropical countries, as they are endemic when rainy season comes. While some mosquito bites might just make you itch, the worse thing that could happen is getting infected with dengue or malaria. High fever, severe joint and muscle pain, headache, are just some of the symptoms of having dengue and malaria. But this 30-year old man from China experienced a rather strange illness. A native of Jiangsu in Eastern China, Mr. Zhang was bitten in the face by a mosquito that caused his whole face to become swollen! His face bloated like a balloon which looks really painful.

At first he had difficulty opening his eyes, until his whole face started to swell. It was so severe that it lasted for about almost 2 months after he was bitten. When asked about the incident, Mr. Zhang vividly recalled what happened, and he said "I clearly remembered that I was bitten by a mosquito on May 26."

According to reports, after being bitten Mr. Zhang promptly squeezed the bite with his hand because it was itching. Causing it to be irritated, and inflammation was the result. His entire face was swollen, even his lips. He experienced high fever and discomfort, so he decided to go to the doctors. Surprisingly, the doctors recommended no specific treatment but advised to only use ice to reduce the swelling in Mr. Zhang's face.

Aside from high fever, no other complications were experienced by Mr. Zhang. Dr. Dai Tao of Luoyang Oriental Hospital, the condition his patient experienced is surprisingly rare. He concluded that it was an allergic reaction when the mosquito bit Mr. Zhang, which his immune system responded to the stimuli of the mosquito bite, that may be more infected more than other mosquitos.
Now Mr. Zhang's on his way to recovery, and we are glad to report he is doing well. Check out this video on why you shouldn't squeeze and pop mosquito bites. Disgusting!
