The overwhelming support from people from all walks of life and especially those from other parts of the country who travelled hundreds of miles just to be in Davao City for the culmination of the nationwide caravan last Friday, August 28, has tremendously impacted Duterte's intention to run. After several indications that he may indeed run for presidency, the doubts have been erased as the announcement of Duterte cleared all the speculation that he will run this coming 2016 elections. The tides have turned and shockwaves have been generated as people chime in with the winds of change, hinting that this is the time that the Philippines will finally shed the reputation of the government and usher a new era in the hands of the "Punisher". Although his scores on opinion polls fare remarkably low when compared to leading candidates such as Vice President Jejomar Binay, Senator Grace Poe, and Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, may believe that this will not affect or even reflect Duterte's qualifications in running for president.
