Two TV Journalists Shot Dead During a Live Broadcast

Two CBS journalists were shot dead during a live broadcast in US state of Virginia on August 26.


According to the NBC report, CBS-affliate WDBJ7’s 24-year-old reporter Alison Parker, and 27-year-old cameraman Adam Ward, were doing a live interview at the Bridgewater Plaza near Smith Mountain Lake at around 6:45 am in local time.

Parker was interviewing the woman about the tourism development for WDBJ's early-morning newscast when the gunman seemingly closed in from behind. Several shots were heard, as well as screams, as Ward's camera fell to the floor, capturing a fuzzy image of the gunman, dressed in dark clothing.

WDBJ general manager Jeffrey Marks confirmed the deaths of two viewers. He said that the gunman is not yet identified and still at large.The Virginia state police is now working with local authorities to capture the gunman.
