OAKLAND - As quick and shocking as a knockout, the first and only eight-division world champion and Philippine Congressman, Manny Pacquiao, has bought full ownership of the NBA's Golden State Warriors. The Warriors announced the purchase today at a press conference held in Oakland, California.

Pacman made waves today in the basketball world after buying off sole ownership of the Warriors team. He will have full control of the organization including its team and staff. The boxer turned politician already runs a basketball team in the Philippines called the Kia Motors where he is a playing coach.

The mega movie star is also seeking ventures in China where he looks to buy a basketball franchise to run in Hong Kong. "If possible, he will also buy a team in the European leagues. We have been keeping an eye in Europe for an up-and-coming team like the Warriors, so look out for that," his agent addressed the media.

This is not Manny Pacquiao's first encounter with the Golden State Warriors as he was recorded to be practicing in their court late 2014 to promote his fight against Algieri. He was able to meet the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The latter told ESPN that he was "happy and excited" about the purchase. The Warriors are regarded as one of the NBA Western Conference's top contenders for the title race.

CLEVELAND - Four-time NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James has publicly confirmed through ESPN that he is joining the Philippine men's national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, in the upcoming off-season. The two-time NBA Champion also stated that he will be touring with the team next year to promote Nike in the Southeast Asian territories.

The 31st FIBA ranked Gilas Pilipinas was able to catch the attention of the Cleveland Cavaliers forward and NBA Superstar LeBron James in their attempt to compete against world-class talent in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.


The Philippine national team was able to secure a win in the tournament, their first in 40 years. A new roster is in the works under head coach Chot Reyes who was able to convince LeBron James to go through naturalization in the Philippines. The Akron hero accepted the offer informally through Twitter, but went on to ESPN to announce his decision to join the team.


LeBron James is a two-time NBA champion, four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, two-time Olympic gold medalist, one-time NBA scoring champion and the 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year.

LAS VEGAS - Stand-up comedian Dane Cook is still not funny according to a survey conducted among humor critics in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the landslide poll, the voting panel recorded a 95% disapproval rating for the star of Harmful If Swallowed; Retaliation; Vicious Circle; Rough Around The Edges: Live From Madison Square Garden; Isolated Incident and his most recent show Troublemaker.

COMPTON - Andre Romelle Young, more known by his stage name Dr. Dre, was shot fifteen times today during a filming of an advertisement for one his technological ventures Beats by Dre under the Beats Electronics brand. The scene was being shot in Downtown Compton.

The American record producer, rapper and entrepreneur received fatal gunshot wounds at around 9 PM tonight while the filming crew stood by in shock as the medical response team attended him. Dr. Dre was shooting a scene with twelve alleged Compton gang members when a vehicle drove by and began firing specifically at the hip-hop billionaire.

"They [meant] to do that on purpose," said one of the participants in the commercial who was wearing an all-red outfit with tattoo of guns, dollar signs and the word "BLOODS" all over his skin.

The Los Angeles Police Department has already ruled out the possibility for this to be a random drive-by shooting as the gunner was definitely targeting Dr. Dre who was in the middle of the scene. "We believe that this is still a gang-related incident as the gunman and several others in the car began shouting profanities typically shouted against Bloods gang members."

UPDATE - Dr. Dre is currently being attended by three doctors at the UCLA Medical Center where he was transferred to after spending two hours in a Compton hospital. He's currently being guarded by his entourage and a group of policemen is surrounding his hospital room.

PENNSYLVANIA - An undisclosed source has reported that twenty four year old singer Taylor Swift has returned to dating once again after a year touring, recording and releasing her new album "1989" which was released just last month despite the name.

The source close to Swift said, "yeah, [Taylor] has taken time off from relationships again since breaking up with [Harry Styles] back last year and wanted to focus on writing songs about that breakup." The source also said that majority of 1989's songs are inspired directly by the One Direction member.

Another source told us, "since the breakup, she's been writing all about him -- all the time and it's effecting her more then a lot of people think. She thought earning $60,000 via Spotify wasn't enough, so she took down all her songs."

If she is currently with anyone is at this moment in time unknown. 1989 has been so far the only album to go platinum in 2014 and with the end of the year in sight, it might be the only one of the year much to the delight of the Swifties.

LOS ANGELES - Yes, you read it correctly! Our sources have told us that the next cinematic installment of everybody’s favorite yellow family will be hitting the silver screen in live action. This near-controversial decision has been said to be given the green light from The Simpsons show’s creator Matt Groening due to it being an "exciting growth opportunity" for our beloved four-fingered characters.

Possibly the most exciting idea to come from this concept is which Hollywood superstar will be given the honor to dawn the infamous blue pants of Homer Simpson, there has been a variety of big names thrown into the mix varying from Michael Chiklis to Zach Galifianakis, but the supposed front runner to become our donut guzzling hero is 22 Jump Street star Jonah Hill. Dan Castellaneta, voice actor for Homer says that "Hill’s zany slapstick humor will encapsulate Homer perfectly.”

This Cartoon Cinematic Revolution is said to go into production March 2015 and Hit screens by August 2017. Fingers crossed to see what is to come.

BRISBANE - Currently in progress this weekend is the G20 summit in Brisbane, Australia of which twenty of the leaders of the world come together to talk about many different issues including economical problems.

One of the speeches during this event was U.S President Barack Obama at the University of Brisbane, He spoke on the many issues such as women and gay rights, climate change, the Asia-Pacific region as a whole and the threat of the destruction of the Great Barrier Reef.

The current leader of the world's only superpower also took the time out to throw some jokes around with the people in attendance, admiring the local beer to go along with the warm weather.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has thus far been upstaged by the other world leaders as he and his government push aside or ignore these issues, Hopefully this G20 event makes the current Australian government rethink such issues sooner rather then later.

WISCONSIN - Despite reassurance from Diddy's hit single Coming Home and the second part of that song, Coming Home, Pt. II, there are still no signs of Skylar Grey being anywhere near her Wisconsin home according to locals.


Holly Brook Hafermann, better known as Skylar Grey, has not been home in almost ten years said neighbors. She moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to record a demo as Holly Brook. This led to her signing in 2004 by Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson to Machine Shop Recordings. She was 18 years old then.

Skylar Grey co-wrote Eminem and Rihanna's hit single Love The Way You Lie with Alex da Kid. She has also been featured in Fort Minor's Where'd You Go, Dr. Dre's I Need a Doctor and Lupe Fiasco's Words I Never Said. She released her debut album, Don't Look Down, in July 2013.


Skylar Grey is now 28 years old, but has still not come home yet. Although she had made a name for herself behind the scenes as a songwriter as well as a singer in the pop music scene, her neighbors are extremely worried that she won't be coming home anytime soon. "She hasn't returned the broom she borrowed in ten years. Could you believe that?" The woman sighed in disappointment.

TOKYO - This past week, Sega published the newest title in the Sonic The Hedgehog series entitled "Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric" which, apart from a major redesign, reboot of the entire universe as well as the character designs of the main cast. The game has a very large surprise for fans of the infamous Blue Hedgehog.

At the end of the game, Sonic faces off against "The Last Ancient" Lyric, a part robot, part lizard who is freed accidentally by Sonic and his friends at the beginning of the game as well as his army of robots.

In the final showdown, Sonic was killed by Lyric horrifically. All other members of the Sonic Team were gravely injured and could not stop Lyric from escaping and they barely escaped with their own lives intact.

It was also reveled before the rolling credits that Amy was pregnant with Sonic's child and after the game jumps ahead several years, the group gone into hiding as Lyric takes control of the planet with the young Sonic Jr. ready to take his revenge for his father.

MANILA - A law to legalize recreational use of cannabis (marijuana) has passed with 83% of the votes in favor of it. The voting was held today and the landslide result shocked the hall. "We expected them to be in favor of the law, but not a lot of them," said one of the spectators in attendance.

After a long and tiring campaign to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, weed users have won. The law is expected to undergo some minor changes. A law that will cover the merchandising and retailing of the plan is already in the works as a follow-up.

A few excerpts from the voted legislation included a highlight that said, "smoking of marijuana will be classified as regular cigarette smoking and should not be done in public places. Private areas, however, is open for marijuana smoking."

The lawmakers are still yet to decide when they're going to attend the hearing regarding the recreational edible marijuana law as it is contained under a different file.

PHILADELPHIA - "The Philadelphia 76ers are aiming for a winless record this season," says a NBA insider. Rumors surfaced early this season when the Sixers opened their first five games with five losses. "They want all the draft picks they can get and they're not taking any chances," added the insider.

"They tanked so good last year, they think they can do it again," the insider told us, "and they want to perfect it this time. They want to go for 0-82." The impossible might just happen as the Sixers are still winless this season.

Michael Carter-Williams has already been evading questions regarding tanking. Instead, he resorted to joking with the media and saying that he watches The Ellen DeGeneres show to get his mind off the losses. "He's taking his mind off the loses, but he's still focused on losing," the NBA insider reported to us in a call. "'Why win now when you can win later?' That was one of the things that came out of the GM's mouth earlier this week in a player-corporate meeting."

And who could blame them? They're already off to a good start in losing. The Sixers can potentially cap it off with the worst season ever in NBA history. That will add them to the record books and land them good picks next year.

BENTONVILLE - Walmart has recently announced that it's going to sell the iPhone 6 for only $50 this coming Black Friday on all their stores nationwide. This bold move was revealed earlier this morning during a live interview with Doug McMillon, the President and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

To boost its sales with Apple products, McMillon told the media that Walmart is going on full sale for all Apple-branded products. This includes the iPhone 5, iPod, iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6 which is going for $50 a piece, the lowest-priced of the bunch, this coming Black Friday.

"We had too many in our warehouses that were not picked up during the pre-order phase due to an error with the system from Apple, so we're going to put them on sale," McMillon addressed the press. He explained that instead of risking themselves losing profit over unsold units, they're going to resell them at a lower price on Black Friday.

They made it clear, however, that they will not be available online or for pre-order again. It will be a first-come-first-serve basis. Security will be upped due to the hype surrounding the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This is to prevent any minor scale stampedes that are expected to occur during the opening of Walmart stores nationwide.

CHICAGO - The basketball world was shocked when NBA superstar and Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose, announced his retirement from the game of basketball. He held a press conference that was supposed to be for a shoe endorsement, but right after the interview, he announced his exit from playing ball.

After two years battling injuries with both of his knees, the former MVP has finally called it quits. "I have to think about my future, my kid, you know," he told the media earlier today. "Nobody wants to grow old on a wheelchair."

Bulls fans are still in awe with the announcement of their headlining superstar. Head coach Tom Thibodeau reassured the fans that they'll still have something to look forward to with their two towers, Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah, leading the way for the Bulls.

"I respect his decision, but he could've at least consulted us, the Bulls organization about his retirement. I understand how he feels and I'm sure all the players wish him nothing but good luck in his future endeavors," Tom Thibodeau said in a phone interview with ESPN.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant told reporters that they've already talked to Rose after the announcement.

Other NBA players such as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, his teammate Pau Gasol and Ricky Rubio have all taken to twitter to voice out their opinions regarding the Chicago-raised baller's retirement. All wished him well.

MANILA - A news report surfaced a week ago about Starbucks, the coffee chain powerhouse based in Seattle, Washington, having breast milk content for beverages served in the United States. New lab results show that Starbucks coffee in the Philippines also contain said content.

Customers were enraged upon finding out that the Starbucks coffee they "love so much" contains traces of human breast milk. Although the primary milk used for the mixtures are still the same, the breast milk only accounted for 3% of all caffeine and non-caffeine drinks.

(Former) patrons of the largest coffee company in the world lined up in a branch at Mall Of Asia to ask for refunds of their gift certificates citing that "it is unfair to buy your friends and families gift certificates then find out they're drinking disgusting contents."

The official handlers of the Starbucks chain in the Philippines are yet to release an official statement regarding this matter.

PASIG - The Department of Education has released a press statement regarding the banning of make-up for high school, elementary and pre-school students nationwide. It is scheduled to take effect next school year. Both public and private institutions are required to enforce this new regulation.

A section of the mandated press release included:

All physical cosmetics that are applied facially are to be prohibited from school premises. Students violating this rule will be subject to up to three days of non-exempted school suspension. Tools that are use to apply cosmetics must be kept in the students' lockers or bags at all times. Anyone caught with them, regardless if applying them or not, will also be subject to suspension.

Colognes and perfumes, however, are not affected by this new rule and are still allowed to be used.

DepEd has stated in the press release that this new regulation is being applied due to misleading facial features of children and teenagers. "These make-up products make them look more mature than they are, and that's not a good thing," Rizalino D. Rivera, Undersecretary for Regional Operations for DepEd, told us when asked for his opinion on the banning of cosmetics in school premises.

ATLANTA - Tauheed Epps, an American rapper better known by his stage name 2 Chainz, has purchased a third chain. He says that this is a step forward for his career and image as a public figure. "My third chain is a symbol of me evolving as a person," said 2 Chainz in an interview conducted by TMZ.

After the release of his FreeBase EP on May of 2014, 2 Chainz has been working on his image to be a better influence to "the young black boys and girls in America." Epps told TMZ, "you know I'm a big deal, right? People look up to me as their inspiration. That's why I need to guide them. This third chain will cement my iconic change from 2 Chainz to," he paused briefly and looked up to the skies, "3 Chainz."

Rick Ross, another rapper who has worked with 2 Chainz, told reporters that "he's very happy" that other rappers are following his footsteps in changing their public image, referring to his recent loss in weight.

MANILA - The popular English-Irish boy band known as One Direction is cancelling its Philippine stop of the "One Direction On The Road Again Tour". The rumors started at around 5:30 AM (Philippine Standard Time) when 1D member Niall Horan sent out a cryptic tweet expressing his sadness regarding a certain bad news for Filipino Directioners that shadowed his joy that their upcoming album "Four" is coming out in less than a week.

We were later enlightened about the content of this tweet when One Direction's tour manager Paul Higgins confirmed the news that broke the hearts of Directioners across the nation.

One Directioner commented on the situation saying that she was very "devastated" upon hearing the cancellation of the Philippine part of the tour. Other Directioners have taken to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the lack of information regarding the news and the silence of the pop group.
