It was found by the hikers who had often stopped and had lunch on this giant rock. But a man noticed some metal and crystal from it and wondered what they were. He hammered and chiseled the rock because of curiosity and sent some to the USA.
It was then confirmed that the rock he found is a Pallasite Metorite, a type of meteorite with translucent golden crystals.
This rare meteorite is believed to originated from deep inside an intact meteor created during the formation of the solar system 4.5 billion years ago. A total of 68 lb of the rock is deposited at University of Arizona and a man named Marvin Kilgore holds a total of the same amount while an anonymous collector holds the largest portion.
